Google versus Microsoft

In der letzten Zeit war nun schon öfter über die Arbeitskultur und -bedingungen bei Google zu lesen. Gratis Essen, unzählige Freizeiteinrichtungen, eigene Buslinien etc. lassen uns gewöhnliche (österreichische) Arbeitnehmer, denen meist nicht mal ein gratis Kaffee gegönnt wird, vor Neid erblassen.

Dass diese „Arbeitserleichterungen“ nicht nur positiv sind – wie man auf den ersten Blick annehmen könnte – ist aber auch klar. Sie dienen mitunter natürlich dazu freiwillig soviel Zeit wie möglich für die Firma zu investieren und durch die Vielzahl an Angeboten das Unternehmen zum absoluten Lebensmittelpunkt zu machen. Das Ganze ist also ein zweischneidiges Schwert, denn für die Mitarbeiter sind der Einsatz und die Services verständlicher Weise angenehm und motivierend.

In diesem Zusammenhang ist von einem Ex-Google und Ex-Microsoft Mitarbeiter ein äußerst interessanter Blog-Eintrag entstanden wo dieser nach der Neuanstellung bei Microsoft ein bisschen aus dem Nähkästchen plaudert und auf die Arbeitsbedingungen in beiden Firmen näher eingeht.
